The tough 23.3 mile course starts and finishes in Horton in Ribblesdale and includes 5279 feet of steep ascents and descents of the 3 Peaks – Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Last Sunday Lucas Meagor of Beverley Athletic Club completed the third of his series of four marathons in four weeks in aid of Cystic Fibrosis. After running the first 21km of the race in Limerick in 1:39:06 he slowed down in the second half of the race and finished in 3:46:05 – his fastest time in the series so far. The final race takes place in Skopje, Macedonia, on Sunday.
54 hardy runners tackled the Brantingham Hill Race on Good Friday, seven of them from Beverley Athletic Club.
