Shaking off their Yorkshire Plate final disappointment of last week, Beverley survived a bruising encounter with a feisty Wath side, finally building to a convincing 24-10 victory.
Playing without their regular fly-half, Beverley had to reshuffle their backs with Sam Acaster taking over at fly-half, Tom Barnard at outside centre, Adam Skeates at full-back, and Jasper Law at scrum-half.
Beverley Under 14s travelled to West Park Leeds for their long awaited Yorkshire Plate Final on Sunday against a strong Ripon team.
Although full of confidence, Beverley knew it would be a difficult task to overturn Ripon, but played the full game with the spirit and determination that had previously ensured they fully deserved a place in the final, but unfortunately came across a very clinical opposition.
Beverley RUFC romped to victory hammering Selby 45 – 18 in a match they controlled from start to finish.
Victory means that the Beavers have lost just once in their last eight games as they continue to grow as a side and are emerging as a real force in the league.
Beverley Under 14s faced a well-drilled and physical Dinnington team on Sunday in their last regular fixture before their clash with Ripon in the Yorkshire plate final next weekend.
The visitors started briskly, with two converted tries in the first ten minutes, and it wasn’t until quarter of an hour into the first half before Beverley – who were missing key players
Beverley RUFC returned to action this weekend with an enthralling end to end victory away at Driffield.
Beverley had beaten Driffield for the first time earlier in the season and the home team were determined to try and level the score this season.
A helter-skelter of a match. Beverley deservedly won in the end but they had to withstand a terrific late Scarborough onslaught during which the two sides between them scored 31 points in the last 25 minutes.
Beverley led 25-6 going into the final quarter and looked to have the game comfortably in the bag. They had been the better side throughout and were playing by far the more controlled rugby. They could scarcely have anticipated the rumbustious ending to come.
A damp murky West Yorkshire afternoon and not one that Beverley will particularly want to remember.
In the heavy underfoot conditions they could never quite come to terms with the big Heath pack and in the end could have no complaint at the final outcome. They did have their moments particularly in the first half and on a firmer surface it could all have been very different.
With Beverley Under 14s Yorkshire Plate Final match against Ripon postponed, they accepted an invitation for a training match against Hullensians, probably one of the best teams in Yorkshire.
With the game split in three segments, both teams started with arguably their strongest 15 players, unlike in previous seasons the match was a very close contest showing the huge improvements the Beverley have made over the past season.
A bit of a curate’s egg here. There were flashes of scintillating rugby, mainly from Beverley, but for the most part this game never rose above the mundane.
Beverley deservedly won in the end but they made heavy weather of it. They were the better side but they were never quite at their best, probably through being without several of their key players.
Beverley RUFC will be looking to make it six wins in a row as the Beavers head to bottom of the table North Ribblesdale in the only league fixture of the day.
The Beavers have been in rich vein of form beating Old Brodleians, Keighley, Hullensians, Bradford Salem and Yarnbury in consecutive games.

Doncaster started very well and attacked Beverley from the kick off and what followed was a very one sided half of rugby
The weather was cold and miserable when the teams took the field at Beaver Park for Saturday’s Yorkshire Division 1 match between Beverley and Old Brodleians and Brods immediately made their intentions clear making a sustained attack on the Beverley line.
Beverley RUFC however defended resolutely and after 5 minutes Brodleians were awarde a penalty in front of the posts. The kick hit the post and was cleared by Beverley and they mounted a sustained attack on the Brodleians line resulting in Steve Wiggill scoring wide out.
Beverley Under 14s travelled to Grimsby this weekend, missing a number of players who were attending Yorkshire Trials, thereby giving good opportunities to other squad members.
The game started well for Beverley, with them dictating the play, the forwards carried and rucked the ball strongly, Harry Hesleton work hard and Captain Ben Wilkinson was a constant menace around the park.
Beverley RUFC Under 14s celebrated their first home fixture of the year with a well-deserved 31-12 victory against a strong Driffield team, their first victory against their close neighbours.
With players returning from injury the Beavers were at near full-strength although, with Alex Crockett taking a short break, Harry Hessleton stepped in to comfortably fill the vacancy at hooker.
Beverley RUFC Under 14s returned to action following the Christmas break with a convincing 53-17win at Scarborough.
With some enforced changes Beverley played Sam Acaster at Stand off and Harry Gunn resumed at full back, leaving Ben Ashley in the centres and Aaron Wearing on the wing, this showed the competitive strength in depth that this team has.
Beverley RUFC continued their good run of form as they beat their West Yorkshire counter parts Keighley to go fifth in the Northern League.
Keighley took the lead through the boot of Alex Brown who kicked a penalty in the first 10 minutes of the game though it was to be the only time the visitors were ahead in the game.
Beverley RUFC will be looking to make it four wins in a row when they entertain Keighley at Beaver Park in the 2.15PM kick off.
The Beavers go into the Norther Division clash in good form that saw them end 2016 with a run of three wins.
This was a poor match. Very scrappy with Beverley RUFC looking strangely under par, particularly following their excellent showing last week in the defeat of Bradford Salem.
Their passing was way below their normal standard and the intended receiver was invariably scrabbling about at their boots or stretching way above their heads.
