This Airfix kit was given kindly to me. It is a 1/24 Messerschmitt bf 109e which was partly made by a chap called George Bogg. We think the model was started in 1973 by George.
It took a while to clean it up, take it apart before putting back together. Sadly, while George put in motors I was unable to make them work. He had also put a lot of effort into detailing the model making many modifications to the original kit.
Hobby Boss USS Kearsarge LHD-3 – Build review and photos of the Hobby Boss USS Kearsarge LHD-3 model kit in 1/700 scale displayed at sea complete with amphibious vehicles and two submarine escorts
Hobby Boss makes a decent kit. This one of the USS Hopper in 1/700 was no exception. Quality-wise the plastic that the kit was made from was very good. The scale is not that big. At 1/700 this model of the USS Hopper was certainly a big test for the eyes, while a steady hand is needed too. Building the model presents very few issues. That said there are some…
Revell always has managed to offer good value when it comes to large scale model planes and their pricing point. That is again the case with the Revell 1/32 Red Arrow.
While it may not be packed with details, the Revell 1/32 Red Arrow never the less is a decent-sized model for the price.
Tamiya 1/35 Panzer Kampfwagen IV Ausf.D was a build undertaken as a bit of an experiment. It started out with the intention of doing hairspray chipping. After applying the primer, the base coat was applied followed by a clear coat. Then came the hairspray.
Tamiya 1/35 M-41 Walker Bulldog Tank is an old kit but despite its age is still a superb model that offers good value and also is nice to display once complete.
As model kits go, the Walker Bulldog Tank given its price point is certainly ideal for playing about with.
Tamiya Yamato 1/350 Scale is a beast of a model kit in terms of its overall size. They tend to be quite an expensive kit but can be picked up second hand from time to time.
This purchase was the latter, it came at a low price off an auction site. At the time I never really thought much of it. But some weeks later when I began the construction I noticed it had been started a bunch of parts were missing.
Zvezda Petr Velikiy Russian Warship is a superb quality model. Even at 1/700 scale, it makes up into a nice size ship.
Having never tackled a model by Zvezda I was worried about what may arrive when it was shipped to me. Well, I need not have been. The mouldings were crisp while very little work was needed to clean up the parts.
Charles de Gaulle by Heller at 1/400 scale is a model for some time that I have wanted to build.
Truth is that this kit is certainly not for the faint-hearted. Maybe my Charles de Gaulle by Heller was a from a bad batch, who knows, what I can say it was a nightmare.
Airfix 1/72 Spitfire is, of course, a very simple model that requires only the basic of skills. The thing is what is there not love about this model.
When you think about the Battle of Britain you think about the Spitfire. While there are many other companies who make this model in this scale, Airfix does a grand job.
Revell USS Arizona 1/426 is a kit I have had sitting about for a while. So after finally getting it done here are some thoughts and photos of the build.
As kits go I think the Revell USS Arizona 1/426 is very old. On the moulding, there was the date 1959. As a result of its age it was not and crisp as more modern kits.
