Best-Dressed Bears And Decorative Daisies Drive Charity’s Festive Fundraising

Tailor-made teddies are taking off with charity supporters around the world to help raise money for a major medical facility which is close to completion at Castle Hill Hospital.

In addition to the best-dressed bears, customers of Cock of the Walk tailors in Hull have been placing festive orders for hand-made dogs and dinosaurs, with the amount raised for the Daisy Appeal now topping £1,000.

Beverley Art Gallery recently launched a series of videos called ‘It’s in the BAG – Behind the scenes at Beverley Art Gallery’, presented by the gallery’s curator Helena Cox and showing remarkable paintings from the gallery’s repository.

For the festive season, the gallery is launching another batch of videos, this time presented by Jane Irisa, an East Riding based collector of traditional Japanese toys.

East Riding residents can now register for the YORSwitch auction, after its latest auction saw an impressive 4,500 households in the area register, saving an average of £150 by switching with the scheme.

Since the scheme started in 2013, YORSwitch has switched more than 35,000 households and delivered more than £7.4million savings for East Riding residents.
