Support For Caravans: Graham Stuart Mp Meets With Business Minister

Beverley and Holderness MP, Graham Stuart, has met with the Minister for Business & Industry to impress on the Government the caravan industry’s importance for the local area.

Minister Nadhim Zahawi heard from local MPs about the effect that the lockdown has had on an industry which supports over 3,206 jobs in the East Riding alone, along with thousands of more jobs in the supply chain and those on holiday parks. More than 200,000 people are employed by holiday parks across the country.

A law firm which has been driving support for charities for more than 30 years with its annual golf day is drawing up a list of fundraising ideas for all after losing this year’s event to the lockdown restrictions.

Rollits, which has offices in Hull and York, has raised more than £140,000 since launching its golf day in 1970, with the East Yorkshire branch of Muscular Dystrophy UK a beneficiary since day one and Dove House Hospice in Hull receiving support for 25 years.

IVE, the Bridge Organisation for Yorkshire and the Humber is working with the Local Cultural Education Partnership and social services in the East Riding to deliver Bags of Creativity. The bags are designed to make sure all children and young people can be creative at home by providing everything they need in one place.
