Mayormaking Ceremony To Be Conducted Virtually For The First Time

The 413th Mayor of Beverley will be chosen later this month using Zoom virtual meeting technology.  Beverley Town Council says the move to do this signals its determination to continue its civic traditions despite the lockdown. 

The ancient office of the Mayor of Beverley dates back to 1573. It is usually passed on each May at the annual Mayormaking ceremony at Beverley’s Guildhall.

Care home operators are among the employers being advised by a regional law firm to be aware of the latest Government guidance on illness and death of employees linked with exposure to coronavirus in the workplace.

Rollits, who have offices in Hull and York, say the pandemic places specific responsibility on employers under RIDDOR – the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013.

A164 And Jock’s Lodge Planning Application Improvement Scheme Submitted

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has submitted a planning application for its proposals to improve the A164 and the Jock’s Lodge Junction near Beverley.

Subject to planning permission being granted, the council intends to carry out a major overhaul of the road system to replace the junction, which currently links the A164 and the A1079, in order to improve congestion problems on one of the East Riding’s busiest roads.
