A local youth rugby league organisation will, this week, hold a tournament that aims to raise awareness of two national campaigns.
The City of Hull and District Rugby League (COHDRL) will host the youth games, starting this Saturday, together with partners including Hull City Council, to raise awareness of black contribution for October’s Black History Month, and celebrate and promote youth achievement in the sport of Rugby League.

Candlelighters Is Going Golden For Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM) takes place in September each year, with children’s cancer charities worldwide taking the opportunity to increase awareness of childhood cancer to raise vital funds to support their work.
Around 1,800 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK with 150 children diagnosed in Yorkshire alone. Receiving a cancer diagnosis for a child is devastating and is the start of a long and gruelling journey for the whole family.

Celebrating Five Years Of Extra Care In Hull
Last month, Hull City Council, Riverside and the residents at Redwood Glades, Cecil Gardens and Harrison Park celebrated five years of Extra Care in Hull.
There are 316 extra care apartments at the above three locations across the city which have been built to provide an environment where vulnerable adults over the age of 18 have their own front door with a provision for 24-hour on-site care and support.
