Wold Escapes, near Driffield, were delighted to win ‘Remarkable Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year’ at this year’s REYTA awards.

The glamping site just outside the village of Southburn, has seen expansion in the last two years and is now home to seven glamping cabins all with hot tubs overlooking views of the Yorkshire Wolds and their wildflower meadow.

Your Ticket, Your Choice – Hull Card and KAT Card Now Available Through Bus Operators’ Apps

Bus passengers in Hull can now buy two discounted travel card products, that allow unlimited travel on both Stagecoach East Midlands and East Yorkshire Buses in the city, through their smartphones.

A local campaign from the Hull Bus Alliance will raise awareness of the products on the theme of ‘Your Ticket, Your Choice’ and explain how customers can buy the Hull Card or KAT Card whichever way suits them – whether on board or through the operators’ apps.

Council Serves Closure Order On Two Bridlington Properties

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has obtained a full closure order on two properties in Bridlington following reports of drug dealing and antisocial behaviour.

The full closure orders were granted by Beverley magistrates on Friday 8 November against 55 Abbotts Way and 22 Harrington Road. The properties, a first floor flat and a terraced house, are owned and managed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

When new housing developments are built, each street needs a name.  The bank of potential street names for the Parish of Beverley, which is managed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, currently contains only one suggestion – Thomas Davie, who was the long-serving Medical Superintendent of the former Broadgate Mental Hospital from 1927 to 1954.
