Arco Supports Education Programmes With Funding And Volunteering

Arco, the UK’s leading safety company, has donated £3,000 to local charity Run With It, an educational support non-profit charity, to help develop literacy and numeracy skills in local young people.

Arco is also encouraging colleagues to involve themselves with volunteering opportunities across all Run With It programmes, including aiding in the delivery of two new ten-week education programmes in Beverley during September, benefitting up to 60 students.

A team of intrepid staff from rural broadband specialists Quickline Communications has raised over £2,000 for the company’s chosen charity Hull4Heroes after tackling the infamous Tough Mudder challenge at the weekend.

The charity, which will be supported by the firm for the next 12 months, was chosen because many members of staff are either ex-forces themselves or have family and friends in the forces.

Young People Continue To Benefit From Maritime Training

More than 80 per cent of participants who completed the latest ‘Maritime Futures’ training programme have gained employment within the maritime sector.

The fourth Maritime Futures cohort has seen 11 young people, aged between 16 and 25 complete the course, with nine securing employment by the end of the course. The group was presented with their certificates by Councillor Rob Pritchard, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Culture.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Nuffield Health, the UK’s largest healthcare charity, has announced the first local authority partnership to run the Charity’s COVID-19 Rehabilitation Programme, in order to help support local residents with long-lasting or returning symptoms after COVID-19.

This is the first time the COVID-19 programme has been made available to an area not already served by one of the Charity’s facilities, expanding the programme’s reach into new areas to support health and wellbeing ambitions on a local level.
