A new campaign ‘Help Us to Help You – Get the most out of your GP Practice’, highlighting some of the small things patients can do to help get the most out of their GP practice, has been announced.

Running across radio and social media, the campaign will inform people how they can support their GP practice to relieve some of their pressures and allow staff to deal with more enquiries.

More Than 2,300 New Blood Donors Are Needed Locally To Meet Demand

NHS Blood and Transplant are urging people in the region to give blood as new targets reveal 2,356 new donors are needed in the city to save lives over the next year.

Nationally one million more blood donors are needed over the next five years to ensure patients receive the right type of blood to save and improve their lives, with a particular need for Black African, Black Caribbean and younger donors.

Public Space Protection Orders To Be Revised By Council

Residents, businesses and community groups are being invited to give their views on proposed changes to some public space protection orders (PSPO) in a number of areas across the East Riding.

In 2016, East Riding of Yorkshire Council introduced 168 public space protection orders, one to cover every parish in the East Riding, to replace dog control orders, no drinking zones and gating orders.

Ofsted Inspectors Say East Riding Social Workers Are Enthusiastic And Motivated

Social workers are “enthusiastic and motivated” while they’re undertaking improved social work with East Riding children and families, according to Ofsted inspectors.

In a letter to East Riding of Yorkshire Council, inspectors found the “pace of improvement” had accelerated since their last focussed visit inspection in March, the fourth such visit since children’s safeguarding and support services were rated as inadequate during an inspection in 2019.
