Toll Gavel was given a treat on Christmas Eve by a group of carol singers who were singing to raise money for Hull Samaritans. The group was organised by Dodi Beardshaw and comprised family members and friends. From 11.00 am to 1.00 pm they raised £677.00.

Fifteen years ago, on the 20 January a historic agreement unfolded that would shape the landscape of healthcare in Beverley. The deal involved the sale of the land for what would become the cornerstone of health services in the region – Beverley’s new Community Hospital on Swinemoor Lane.

New BSL Signed Video And Podcast Launched In The East Riding In The Battle Against Fraud

Residents with hearing and sight impairments across the Humberside Police area will directly benefit from a new project, created by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Community VISION, in association with Hull and East Yorkshire Centre for the Deaf.

A new podcast and BSL (British Sign Language) signed video were launched at a recent event in Beverley to highlight fraud awareness and protection, allowing residents to access information which would otherwise have been unavailable to them.

Easter Food And Holiday Activities Grants Are Now Available

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) grant scheme is now open to support providers to deliver fun activities for children and young people aged 5-16 years who are in receipt of benefits related free school meals in the Easter holidays. 

There’s up to £5,000 available for organisations to provide activities including sport, play, drama, cooking, crafts, dance, music, healthy lifestyles, art or outdoor adventures.

National first aid and healthcare charity St John Ambulance is giving local football and rugby fans an opportunity to join a new team of first aid volunteers who will specialise in stadium first aid.

The charity is hoping that Hull City and the town’s rugby supporters will step forward to train as first aiders and volunteer at either the MKM Stadium or The Sewell Group Craven Park Stadium during home football and rugby games, or both.

The council warns that bogus taxi drivers should be avoided. Social media should not be used to request ‘lifts’ unless a licensed driver is offering them. There are often no licensed drivers or vehicles involved in ‘lifts’, and they have not been vetted or checked.
