The Mayor of Beverley is asking residents of the town to nominate their good neighbours for a civic award. Since March 2019, Beverley, like the rest of the world, has experienced challenging times due to Covid-19. 

However, this has also brought with it an extra special sense of community spirit, as individuals and organisations have gone that bit further to look after friends and neighbours.

Library Link Brings Bedside Poems And Stories To Hospital Patients

A hospital in Yorkshire has become the first in the country to support patient care by bringing poetry, stories and chat to the bedside in a partnership that has its roots in the UK City of Culture programme.

Library Link has completed a pilot scheme with volunteers from Hull and East Yorkshire reading poems and short stories to patients in wards and waiting rooms at Hull Royal Infirmary and is now gearing up to return post-Covid.
