Businesses Leading The Way To Promote Literacy By Backing The Big Malarkey

Children and their families from across the region are celebrating the return this week of a festival that encourages curiosity, learning and creativity by promoting reading for pleasure.

The Big Malarkey took a Covid-enforced break during 2020 but is now beginning a new chapter at East Park with a week of activities dedicated to schools in the city, followed by a weekend of events that are open to the public.

Hull Ice Skating Community Reassured Over £1.45 Hull Arena Refurb

Hull City Council has met with representatives of the city’s ice skating community to reassure them a £1.45 revamp of the Hull Arena is on schedule.

The council is working closely with ice hockey clubs, figure skating groups, and other customers, as well as with the English Ice Hockey Association, to try to minimise the effects on fixtures and other commitments at the arena.
