In 2016, the East Riding of Yorkshire contained approximately 145,000 households of which 1,724 were classed as long term empty, meaning they have been empty for six months or more.

A lifelike audiovisual installation of a mighty Bowhead whale, highlighting Hull’s whaling heritage at the Maritime Museum will start next month as part of the 2017 UK City of Culture Made in Hull programme.

In the run up to Christmas the Humberside Police Licensing Department will be distributing nearly 16,000 extra safe polycarbonate glasses to pubs and clubs across Humberside.
The glasses will be carrying a domestic abuse messages the which not only aims to encourage victims to report the crime, but also encourage their friends or family to report their concerns.
