Earlier today Emma Hardy MP for Hull West and Hessle chaired a virtual lobby with over thirty cross-party MPs and nearly 400 representatives from the coach industry to call on government action for urgent support during the COVID-19 crisis.

Hundreds of coach operators, many of which are small family-owned businesses, have not been able to access enough support to guarantee their survival, whilst other transport sectors have received tailored support.

Over four hundred coaches took the streets of London including four from Beverley. While there they sounded their horns as they looked to highlight the issues faced by the industry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Acklams Coaches in Beverley will take over a service previously operated by EYMS next month taking on a village bus service will increasing it from three days a week to five days per week.

Acklams Coaches , which is a local family run business will take on the 504 service, which carries passengers between Bempton, Buckton and Bridlington, will be run by Acklams Coaches from Monday 3 September.

A busy day at the Norwood Recreation Ground saw Beverley Town Cricket Club lift two of the three junior cricket cups.

On a surprisingly low scoring day none of the teams batting first reached 100 runs. The Under 11s kicked off proceedings by posting 89 for 8 from their 20 overs against a very good Welton side that had beaten Beverley earlier in the season.

Thousands of spectators are expected to line the race route in the East Riding as the peloton races through the area, taking in a number of towns and villages including Tour de Yorkshire debutants Howden and Hornsea.

A bus company is to launch a new later service to help two villages near Beverley following a request from residents.

Villagers in Cherry Burton appealed to councils and bus operators to provide a later service back from Beverley on weekdays, as the last bus currently departs from the town at 3.35pm during school term times, and 3pm during school holidays.
