Beverley AC Runners Enjoy A Mixed Weekend

Torrential rain greeted all runners as they assembled for the Humber Bridge Half Marathon last Sunday, where a healthy representation of 23 Beverley AC members was amongst the 1671 finishers.

An impressive turnout of 29 Beverley AC members lined up for the Ferriby 10 mile road race on a stormy Sunday morning last weekend.

Last Sunday saw the second race in the 2013/2014 East Yorkshire Cross Country series, at Drewton Woods, near South Cave. The race is organised by Beverley AC. It covers a demanding and hilly six and a half miles
Nine Beverley AC members ventured over the bridge to Barton last Sunday, for the final Club Handicap Series race of the season, The Deepdale Dash 10k.
With the clocks going back last weekend, runners tackling the 27th Haltemprice 10k on Sunday had an extra hour in bed to rest in preparation for their efforts
For the second week in a row Beverley AC members took on some serious distance as a small group took on the Hardmoors Princess 30.
Beverley AC runner, Carla Stansfield pulled off a fantastic performance at the Escrick 10k on Sunday, to finish as first lady in 38:58.
Beverley’s men took first place in the team prize at last Friday evening’s Airkool Walkington 10k road race, organised by Beverley Athletic Club.
The annual Beverley AC Duathlon was held on 26th June. This is a tough test which starts at Skidby Mill and consists of a 2 mile run, followed by a 10 mile bike ride, then a 2 mile run.
If you want to decide when to have a summer Barbeque it seems Humber Bridge half weekend is the weekend to pick as the weather once again didn’t disappoint.
A total of 33 Beverley AC runners competed in the Humber Bridge 10k race last Sunday. Run by City of Hull AC, this is a well established and popular race which has been getting bigger every year.
A busy week on the local and national race calendar saw a number of great achievements for Beverley AC runners.
Beverley AC runner James Pearson, once again made the top 10 in the Askern 10k, near Doncaster, last Wednesday.
