Talented Beverley swimmer heads to the British Championships this week, 5 – 10 April, hoping for Olympic qualifying times. Kieran Grant, age 17, from Beverley Barracudas swimming club has qualified in 4 events and hopes this will open the doors to Paris, in 2024.
After the highs of an extremely successful annual gala for Beverley Barracudas Swimming Club, held at Beverley Leisure Centre on Sunday 15 March 2020, which saw club records broken, personal bests and County & Regional times achieved, swimming, unfortunately, came to an abrupt halt on March 17 2020 due to Covid-19.
The Beverley Barracudas Swimming Club spent 3 weekends in February competing at the annual Yorkshire Championships in Leeds and Sheffield.
Swimming in a 50m long pools, the Barracudas swam with determination and passion to bring home excellent finalist positions. They also picked up a medal against the best swimmers in Yorkshire.
Vauxhall retailer, Evans Halshaw in Beverley, made waves at a local swimming gala when it turned out to show its support for The Beverley Barracudas Swimming Club and help the club raise funds.
The Evans Halshaw team was on hand at the event, which took place at the Beverley Leisure Centre, to help The Beverly Barracudas meet their fundraising target by contributing some much needed funds to help cover the costs of the swim team’s kit.
Beverley Barracudas hosted the Summer Sprints this weekend at the Beverley Leisure Centre. Sponsored by the Motor Depot the Barracudas enjoyed a successful time in the pool.
Six members of Beverley Barracudas Swimming Club are to complete a continuous 12-hour triathlon relay as they look to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
