Swimmers at Beverley Help Raise Over £10K

Swimmers at East Riding Leisure Centres raised more than £10,000 for charity when they took part in Swimathon 2010. The total figure raised by 136 swimmers at five East Riding pools has now been calculated at £10,338.74 Money raised by those taking part in the East Riding forms part of £2m raised across the UK which goes to the Swimathon Foundation and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Green Dragon Pub do their Bit for YAA

The Green Dragon Pub in Beverley held a beer festival in support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The festival was the finale to longer fund raising campaign by publicans Alan and Glyn Clarke. Gym for Heroes @ Riverview Gym

Staff and members at Riverview Gym completed a 24 hour endurance challenge this weekend. Shoppers in Beverley Town Centre this week may have noticed three miniature ponies having a stroll amongst them. The Miniature Shetland Ponies were accompanied by volunteers of a national charity ‘Phoenix Childrens Foundation’ Fund’ which raises money to support programmes to help disadvantaged children enjoy the experience of horse-riding.
