East Riding Libraries are celebrating Make Music Day on Friday, 21 June 2024. Featuring a series of events and live music, residents will be able to get musical across the East Riding! With drop in events at libraries and singers popping up in towns across the county, it’s sure to be a day to remember.
Some of our events will include a singer in Little Weighton in partnership with the mobile library, and a Dolly Parton tribute singing her way around Driffield! On Saturday, 22 June, Beverley Folk Festival have partnered with Beverley Library to bring a selection of singers to the venue in the afternoon.

The Deer Shed Festival has announced it will offer full weekend adult tickets to its ninth edition at a heavily discounted price of £50 (plus booking fee) for holders of adult full weekend tickets to the cancelled Beverley Folk Festival.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council are the latest organisation to express their regrets at the collapse of the Beverley Folk Festival which has seen this year’s event cancelled.
The Council who have been keen supporters of the Beverley Folk Festival added they were able to put a stop to the money that was due to be granted to help fund the festival.

Beverley Folk Festival will once again bring some fun and flare to the streets of Beverley, when Dance Teams from around the country descend on the town for the 35th annual Folk Festival.
Quick-footed performers from Norfolk, Lincoln, Newcastle, Leeds, Coventry, Sheffield and Leeds will stage a range of traditional dances, including Rapper, Sword, Border and Step Clog Morris.
Beverley Garland Dancers will be holding free taster sessions in February as they look to give people a chance to try out Morris dancing.
The group say no experience is needed, they hope people will come along and bring with them some enthusiasm coupled with a desire to have fun and stay fit and try out clog Morris dancing.
Beverley Folk Festival is urging music lovers from the town and beyond to support them in the 14th annual UK Festival Awards 2017.
The much-loved festival, which is now working towards it’s 35th year in 2018, has been nominated for two awards – “Best Small Festival” and “Best Family Festival” categories. Members of the public can go online to cast their vote for the event.
It might be almost a year away, but plans for the 35th Beverley Folk Festival are already underway, with a limited number of Early Bird discounted tickets currently available.
Priced at £80, these full weekend tickets give you access to everything the festival has to offer – for an additional fee you can also book your camping months in advance.
