When Beverley Town Council organised the first Food Festival in 2006, little did they know it would go on to be an annual success enjoyed by thousands of people.
The original idea was to bring a few producers from Beverley’s rural hinterland into the town centre to help celebrate local food, so on a crisp Sunday morning in 2006, thirty-five producers set up their stalls along with a small Food Theatre.

The original idea was to bring a few producers from Beverley’s rural hinterland into the town centre to help celebrate local food, so on a crisp Sunday morning in 2006, thirty-five producers set up their stalls along with a small Food Theatre, in what proved to be a big success for the Town Council – one that has grown stronger year on year.
This Sunday will see the official opening of King’s Church’s new extension by the Mayor of Beverley, Anne Willis at 2pm.
The new building, on the Jacob’s Well site, just near Aldi, on Swinemoor Lane, has been constructed by church members themselves, with a little help from friends and other skilled volunteers.
Beverley Garland Dancers will be holding free taster sessions in February as they look to give people a chance to try out Morris dancing.
The group say no experience is needed, they hope people will come along and bring with them some enthusiasm coupled with a desire to have fun and stay fit and try out clog Morris dancing.
Beverley will be a hive of activity this weekend as one of the key signature events, Beverley Festival of Christmas takes place with the promise of festive fun for all.
With tens of thousands of people expected to attend, the Beverley Festival of Christmas will feature a Victorian market, festive parade and host of live entertainment.
Tour de Yorkshire will officially start in Beverley on Friday 29th April 2016. Throughout the day a wide range of entertainment has been put on for those looking to make a day of it.
This weekend the Beverley Festival of Christmas, a firmly established event in the local calendar takes place. Family-friendly events will be taking place on Sunday 13 December 10 AM through to 4 PM.
One of the main attractions at this weekend’s Beverley Food Festival will be the live cook-off to determine Hull and East Yorkshire’s Apprentice Chef of the Year.
