During its final journey through England this summer, the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay will make a stop in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
As part of the build-up to the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Birmingham hosts the 16th Queen’s Baton Relay – an event that brings together and celebrates communities across the Commonwealth.
It is being planned for the council’s local growth team to do two days of activities in the centre of Beverley towards the end of the month.
There will be no pre-registration required for the events, and there will be no charge to attend. Over the course of two days, a variety of family entertainment will be provided by outside vendors as well as council-sponsored teams and community organisations.
Beverley Minster is to host a concert by a professional African musician in the upcoming months.
The event is taking place at the Minster on Saturday 14 May from 5pm where the general public is invited to attend “Classical Afro Jazz and Pop” a performance by Cecil Jones.
