Conversion of Exchange recognised in National Awards Scheme

The work of the council’s Building Control service has been recognised in a national awards scheme. The former Corn Exchange in Beverley’s Saturday Market, which was converted by a local businessman into Browns department store, has won the ‘highly commended’ award (best small commercial building category) in this year’s LABC National Building Excellence Awards. Browns will finally open its doors on Thursday to the public at 10am.
