A game between third and fourth prior to the fixture was always going to be a tight affair and so it proved on a filthy day at Beaver Park.

Selby kicked off towards the clubhouse and straight away Beverley were able to sustain possession through a series of phases and pin back Selby back with some clever kicking by Phil Duboulay. With the lineout and scrum functioning better than in recent weeks the Beavers were able to establish some control.

Beware the ides of March.  But not this week.  After the dismal affair a week ago at Dinnington Beverley were back on top form securing another outstanding bonus point win – the seventh in their last eight games. 

Crossleyans started the match only one point behind Beverley but never really got a look-in and Beverley comfortably cruised home scoring six tries in the process all of which Phil Duboulay converted in difficult conditions.

Beverley RUFC started the second half of the season entertaining Pontefract on a cold and grey day, but at least dry conditions underfoot made the prospect of some good rugby realistic and so it proved.

In September the Beavers secured a victory over Pontefract in the corresponding fixture over in the West Riding. Results since then shown that Ponte has improved substantially and they currently sit fourth in the table, with 13 points more than Beverley.

After making a winning start to their league campaign against Guisborough, Beverley colts second fixture was against their local rivals Driffield. Although Beverley ended up winning 57-5, this was a much closer game than the score may suggest.

Beverley started the stronger of the two teams and managed to turn their early dominance into points when captain, George Bennett-Teare picked up from the base of an attacking scrum and fed fellow back rower, Reg Fisher, who drove over for a try converted by Charlie Rawlins.
