Children under 16 will be able to participate in the first-ever Bridlington Crab Chase on Sunday, 18 September, in Bridlington’s Harbour at Crane Wharf.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Coastal Services team has organised this new and exciting event with the support of Bridlington Quay Townscape Heritage.
A free fun event is taking place in Bridlington on 29 and 30 August, to explore the town’s seaside heritage
The event will be held in Garrison Square, where entertainment will include traditional Punch and Judy shows throughout both days. There will also be short walking tours taking place around Bridlington Quay, starting at 10:30am and finishing at 3:00pm.
Residents and visitors to Bridlington’s harbour side have been left baffled after the mysterious appearance of colourful knitted seaside shapes, behind the kiosks on Garrison Square and the railings at Crane Wharf.
The ‘yarn bombing’ is all part of the Bridlington Quay Townscape Heritage project, which aims to get more people interested in the history and heritage of Bridlington town centre seafront.
A free workshop training session will be held on Friday, 31 March for people wanting to learn about oral history.
This is one of the activities offered through the Bridlington Quay Townscape Heritage project, which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The session will take place at King Street Library, from 10am-4.30pm.
