East Riding College said farewell to its long-serving Chair of the Corporation at the end of July. 

Local businessman Simon Wright joined the board of governors at the college fifteen years ago when the Beverley campus was based at the old Gallows Lane site and before the current Bridlington campus was built.

Popular local children’s entertainer Magic Mike will be back for fun and frivolity at Bridlington Spa with two shows per week in August.

With social distancing in place, the venue will be operating at a reduced capacity and the show will take place in the Edwardian style theatre. Instead of the Royal Hall.

Bridlington Park And Ride Buses And Land Trains Will Start On 4 July

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that the popular Bridlington Park and Ride bus service will start on Saturday, 4 July, and will run until early November, seven days a week.

Whilst the COVID-19 restrictions are in place, customers will have to wear a face-covering if they wish to travel on the Park and Ride. There will also be reduced capacity on the Park and Ride buses to ensure social distancing.

Dog Restrictions On East Riding Beaches Will Be Enforced From 4 July

Dog owners are being reminded that restrictions excluding their pets from certain parts of beaches along the East Coast will be enforced from Saturday, 4 July this year, having been temporarily suspended in May.

The introduction of the annual exclusion, enforced by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, was delayed this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A ‘perverted’ 19-year-old child sex offender from Bridlington has been jailed for 6 years after he pleaded guilty to nine offences.

Jack Walker, of Fort Terrace, Bridlington, pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two common assaults.
