Beverley 2nd team finished a great season in style with one of their best performances & deservedly won the Merit League Division 1 Final against Ionians Buccaneers 40-5.
Beverley RUFC make the trip North Eastwards this Saturday to take on Durham City in the North 1 East league encounter. They do so following their return to winning ways last weekend against Cleckheaton.
On Saturday Beverley 2nd team faced a strong Pocklington team at Beaver Park knowing that a place in the Merit League Final awaited the winner. In previous league fixtures there has been very little separating the two sides so a close game was expected.
An enthralling match.It was fast, furious and never dull and it all ended happily for Beverley RUFC. The upshot was that with the win and four-try bonus point Beverley RUFC are now level pegging in the scrap forthe probable last remaining position of safety.
Beverley 2nd XV used a gap in the fixtures to play a friendly with Malton & Norton at Beaver Park. The sides battled in out in blustery conditions with the match ending in draw
