Beverley rounded off their league campaign in fine style to end the season twenty points clear at the top of North One East. In the twenty six games played they suffered only two defeats and scored 1229 points at an average of 47 points per game.
You couldn’t ask for much better than this. Beverley RUFC have played some tremendous rugby in the course of this season but not much that has surpassed this for quality. It was not so much the number of tries they scored but the sheer quality of them that was so impressive.
Beverley RUFC host Northern RFC at Beaver Park on Saturday when they continue their North 1 (East) league programme in a game sponsored by former club captain Jonathan Fisher of Fisher Engineering.
Normal service resumed. After last week’s blip at Cleckheaton Beverley RUFC got back to form in fine style and recorded an emphatic win to go thirteen points clear at the top. It was tough on Durham.
Despite their comparatively low league position, Malton pushed the Beverley RUFC all the way in the corresponding fixture at Beaver Park last September
Another workmanlike afternoon for Beverley RUFC. Although Keighley started brightly and took an early lead they were eventually put to the sword. Eight tries, mostly in a second half blitz, took Beverley RUFC to within a single point of league leaders Wheatley
This was a bit more like it. After their disappointing display the previous week Beverley RUFC got themselves together today and ended up with a much needed five point win. It was a hard-fought affair and in truth for half the match things were not that much better than at Morley.
Not much memorable rugby but another useful win for Beverley to keep them level pegging at the head of the table. Despite being good in patches the game as a whole was disappointing given the open conditions.
What a performance. Beverley stormed to the head of the table with a twelve try romp taking their points total to 122 in two games. In the searing heat they simply ran riot with some breathtaking rugby.
Beverley RUFC’s league season ended in disappointment when results elsewhere on the final day denied them the last place of safety they had come so close to attaining.
Triumph and tragedy here for Beverley RUFC. They achieved another fine victory in their fight to avoid relegation but sadly it was marred by a serious neck injury to Alex Ogilvie which caused a fifty minute delay
A thrilling match and a terrific second half. At halftime Beverley RUFC were down and out. They trailed 17-5; their influential fly half was on his way to hospital with a suspected broken leg, and a red card had reduced them to fourteen.
A humdinger of a match. Eighty minutes of thrilling rugby and it all ended appropriately in a tense and nailbiting finale. Had Phil Duboulay’s conversion attempt from the touchline with the last action of the match not narrowly dropped the wrong side of the crossbar
A curiously flat affair. Given their league positions this was a game both sides desperately needed to win. Altrincham for their part went all out for it but Beverley RUFC after their recent good form strangely never really turned up here and in the end were lucky
This was rugby at its best. A cracking match in which the lead changed hands five times and the result remained in doubt until the final whistle.
A hugely disappointing day for Beverley RUFC. Both these sides badly needed to produce a top class performance to secure a win and ease their relegation worries. The message had clearly got through to Penrith but Beverley RUFC, sadly, seemed quite oblivious to it. They were frankly unrecognisable from the side that played so well the previous week against Rossendale and were deservedly beaten by a team playing with far…
Another defeat for Beverley RUFC but this was a much improved performance and with the injured players beginning to return there is at last some light at the end of the tunnel. With results elsewhere again going in their favour they still have every chance to make a swift climb up the table. The return here of Sam Atiola to partner Junior Tupai in the centre has clearly restored to…
