Free Parking In Run-Up To Christmas Returns For 11th Year

Free parking across all council-operated car parks in the East Riding will come into force this weekend.

For the 11th year, East Riding of Yorkshire Council will suspend parking charges at all council on-street parking bays and off-street car parks for the four weekends in the run-up to Christmas in a bid to boost trade and visitor numbers to towns.

Leading charities the Trussell Trust and FareShare are appealing to people in Hull to volunteer to help in the UK’s biggest food collection for people in need.

From Thursday, November 21 until Saturday, November 23 the two charities will be collecting food in Tesco stores across the UK during the annual Tesco Food Collection. They are looking for local volunteers to encourage shoppers to donate so that as much food as possible can be collected.
