The culture crew which was behind the release of dozens of decorative toads and moths onto the streets of Hull and East Yorkshire is appealing for help from commercial property owners and agents as it prepares to unleash a parade of puffins.
Organisers of Puffins Galore! are ready to take delivery of 40 giant models of the much-loved seabirds which will be painted up and then placed at towns and landmarks to create a new sculpture trail across the region.
In 2022 the Puffins are flying south, as 40 artist decorated Puffin sculptures land at coastal towns and attractions from Flamborough to Spurn Point, as well as to inland towns and villages of East Yorkshire.
Puffins Galore! seeks artists with experience in responding to a similar brief and producing artwork that is visually exciting and robust enough for the public domain.
Road improvement work worth £50,000 is due to be carried out on a section of the A1035 Beverley to Bridlington road near Leven.
The work is set to take place on a stretch of road between the entrance to the Heron Lakes holiday park and the Whitecross roundabout, a main route into Leven, starting on Monday 31 January.
Two more school expansion projects are to begin in Hull, as part of £50million investment into the city’s schools to increase pupil places, choices and provide outstanding learning environments for children.

The passes have been introduced by East Riding of Yorkshire Council to make the system fairer – to make sure the sites are only being used by East Riding residents.
