Former Teachers Team Up To Launch Creative Learning Business

Two former Visual Arts teachers from Wilberforce College have joined forces to bring creative learning courses to East Yorkshire.

Holly Davis from Pocklington and Sarah Rands from Cottingham set up Thread and Press Creative Learning pre-lockdown but have only recently been able to start delivering courses.

Funding Approval Will End 15-Year Wait For New Health Centre

A new medical centre which was first proposed nearly 15 years ago has cleared its final hurdle after funding was approved by the East Riding of Yorkshire NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Work could start by the end of this year on the site in Lowfield Road, Anlaby, with construction expected to take 12 months, and the new centre will reflect the advances in facilities and the increase in demand over recent years.

Minister Nadhim Zahawi heard from local MPs about the effect that the lockdown has had on an industry which supports over 3,206 jobs in the East Riding alone, along with thousands of more jobs in the supply chain and those on holiday parks. More than 200,000 people are employed by holiday parks across the country.

A164 And Jock’s Lodge Planning Application Improvement Scheme Submitted

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has submitted a planning application for its proposals to improve the A164 and the Jock’s Lodge Junction near Beverley.

Subject to planning permission being granted, the council intends to carry out a major overhaul of the road system to replace the junction, which currently links the A164 and the A1079, in order to improve congestion problems on one of the East Riding’s busiest roads.
