A Conference On Safety Will Be Held In East Riding With Sponsorship From Arco

The UK’s leading safety company, Arco, will sponsor this year’s conference of the East Riding Village Halls Network on Friday 13 May at Holme-on-Spalding-Moor Village Hall.

This event marks the first in-person conference for E.R.V.H.N since the Covid-19 pandemic and will cover a variety of topics about ‘keeping safe’, such as food safety, working at heights, play areas and safety essentials, and combating social isolation.

Hull and York Rail Route Given Green Light By Government Ministers

A bid to restore a 40-mile direct rail route between Hull and York has today been given the green light by Government Ministers.

The bid, sponsored by Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart, will now receive support from officials at the Department for Transport as well as funding for 75% of the cost of creating a business case, up to a maximum of £50,000.
