Hull Trains Provide Coronavirus Update To MP Graham Stuart

Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart has held an urgent meeting with the Managing Director of Hull Trains, Louise Cheeseman, to get an update on the train operator’s situation as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

Hull Trains have suspended their operations since 30th March following the Government’s guidance that services should be for essential travel only, leading to an increase in the number of people working from home.

A charity supporting individuals in recovery from alcohol and drugs has set up a Facebook Group to provide much-needed support, during the government enforced lockdown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

The Recovery Network can be found on The Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) Facebook page. It’s for anyone whether they are using the service or not, to join the conversation, whilst staying safe at home.

Children from Hull and across South Yorkshire had a special Christmas surprise when they made a visit to Amazon in Doncaster iPort to take part in a Christmas-themed day of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) fun with Barnardo’s.

Pupils from St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School in Hull joined children from the Barnardo’s Priory Family Centre in Barnsley to visit the Amazon fulfilment centre as part of a programme called Amazon Future Engineer.

Facebook Fly-Tipper Fined £1,815 For Dumping Rubbish Near Howden

A man from Hull who advertised a waste removal service on Facebook has been ordered to pay £1,815 after dumping a resident’s rubbish in a layby near Howden.

Audrius Zigmantas, of Doncaster Street, Hull, admitted he and a friend collected the waste from a resident in Cottingham, using his van, but he claimed it was his friend who disposed of the items.
