Local Authors To Feature In The Festival Of Words

Local authors will be featured heavily in the East Riding Festival of Words – the new look literature festival coming to the area in October.

The festival will be officially launched by Val Wood at Beverley Art Gallery on Thursday, 18 October, at 7.30pm. Val will be giving an exclusive reading of her latest novel, ‘A Place to Call Home’, which will be published in November.

Innovative Community Event In Beverley Ahead Of Beverley Early Music Festival

Two groups of young people in Yorkshire have come together across boundaries to take the recorder to their hearts, in an innovative community project as part of the 31st Beverley & East Riding Early Music Festival opening next week, 24-27 May 2018.

York’s Minster Minstrels, an established youth ensemble dedicated to the exploration of early music, and Castaway Musical Theatre Goole, a vibrant group of young people with learning and physical disabilities from the Goole area, have been working on a collaborative project for the last three months, as part of the BBC Ten Pieces project, which aims to make classical music and musical instruments accessible.

Urgent Care Plans Approved By East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group

The future of urgent care services in the East Riding of Yorkshire have today been confirmed, with three urgent care centres open 365 days per year set to be introduced in Beverley, Bridlington and Goole, replacing the current minor injury units across the region.

The decision was also made to create an integrated community and intensive rehabilitation centre in Beverley, which will be supported by Time to Think beds, meaning current community hospital beds in Bridlington and Withernsea will close. A number of Time to Think beds will be located in Holderness and Bridlington.
