New Constituency Data Show Beverley & Holderness Ahead Of The National Vaccine Curve

Local MP Graham Stuart has welcomed new constituency-level vaccination figures which show that Beverley and Holderness is ahead of the national average of one-third of adults having received their first Covid-19 jab.

The most recently available data show all jabs administered up to 21st February, at which point 32,581 people over the age of 18 had received their first dose of either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Oxford/AstraZeneca shot.

Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness, virtually met Headteacher, Gavin Chappell, and Deputy Headteacher, Edward Vickerman, of Beverley Grammar School to hear how the school has been successful with their online learning provision. 

The first lockdown was an important learning experience for Beverley Grammar, and they used the knowledge they gained to plan and put in place the correct measures for welcoming students back last September, and for the subsequent lockdowns.

MP for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, has paid a visit to East Riding Theatre to meet its general manager Sue Kirkman following its £72,522 Government grant.

Theatres up and down the country have largely been forced to close their doors since March, which has meant East Riding Theatre has instead focused on maintaining an active online programme of events, with the help of locally-based freelancers.

The meeting also comes after news that St John Ambulance is to close its Morton Lane base in Beverley, following a coronavirus-catalysed review of the charity’s estate.
