Beverley Whitestar Falcons were beaten as the East Riding Girls Football League got under way. Playing at the Beverley Leisure Centre Hessle Town Girls cruised to victory as they beat Whitestar 7 – 1.
Hornsea Sporting FC were the visitors to the Walkington home of Mill Lane United’s under 16 girls in a Eat Riding Girls Football League encounter.
Hull College Girls were beaten 3 – 0 by East Riding Rangers at Longcroft School. The win moves East Riding Rangers into second in the table while Hull College slip into the bottom two, though they have played just three games.
Beverley Whitestar Falcons dropped two points at home though remain unbeaten in the East Riding Girls Football League. The Falcons sporting a new pink and black kit drew 2 – 2 with Pinfleet Wolferton at the Beverley Leisure Centre.
Players from Beverley Whitestar Phoenix received new kit ahead of their game this weekend at the Beverley Leisure Centre. The girls who play in the U12s East Riding Girls Football League received training jackets sponsored by Yorkshire Motor Home Hire and new hats complete the club logo sponsored by Lunny’s.
Beverley Whitestar’s last home game of the season kicked off at Broadgates instead of their usual Leisure Centre ground but the change in venue didn’t cause any problems as the Whitestar team took control of the game from the kick off.
A Hat-trick from Courtney Fee helped Mill lane United to a 9 – 0 Emma Johnson, Emma Smith and Sarah Bromwich all scored with Player of the Match Millie O’Neil coming off the bench to grab a brace.
Mill Lane United continued their winning ways with an impressive win over Hornsea Sporting at Broadgates. However the score line did not reflect the determined effort by Hornsea that kept the home side to a narrow lead at half time with goals from Mill Lane’s Connie Forward, Isobel Gillyon and captain Hope Barrett with a reply from Hornsea’s Jessica Nicholson.
