Hull City Council Backs Project To Support Ukrainian Women Entrepreneurs

Hull City Council has announced that it will be backing a national project to support Ukrainian women entrepreneurs as part of a programme that will see women entrepreneurs from war-torn Ukraine relocate to the UK. 

During the first Global Entrepreneurship Congress [GEN] since before the pandemic, 6,000 ecosystem builders, ministers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors exchanged ideas to improve and develop new entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Hull’s oldest boxing club has topped off a £1m refurb with brand new signage thanks to two well-known city-centre businesses.

Commercial property developer Allenby Commercial and Hideout Hotel – an apartment hotel on North Church Side – have clubbed together to provide the signage for St Paul’s Boxing Academy, also based on the north side of Hull Minister.

An international competition has shortlisted Hull’s maritime living statues to compete against others from around the world.

Hull City Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund have selected three of the living statues created for Hull Maritime, the £30 million project being funded by Hull City Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, to compete in the World Living Statues Festival, World Championship on 16 October 2022 in Alkmaar, Netherlands.

Work to conserve a collection of historic maritime paintings from the Hull Maritime Museum is now complete.

Following a survey of 400 paintings, the 13 selected works of art that depict a variety of maritime themes with important links to the city’s history were sent to the conservation studio of Lincoln University for essential conservation treatment.

Set up by Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire councils, the helpline 01482 300 305 will ensure people arriving in our area through the Government’s Homes for Ukraine scheme, have easy access to advice and support from advisers who speak Ukrainian, Russian and English, from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
