Former World, Olympic, European, Commonwealth and British 400-metre hurdles champion Sally Gunnell joined more than a thousand runners in the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k road race in Scarborough last Sunday. Beverley Athletic Club’s men continued their successful run by winning the men’s team prize in the Jim Dingwall Elloughton 10k last weekend. Beverley Athletic Club athletes enjoyed a trip to the seaside on Sunday to run the Withernsea 5 and fun run, organised by Withernsea Harriers.  There was a record entry for both races and the offer of free fish and chips for all finishers in the 5 mile race proved a big attraction for Beverley runners. Beverley Get Two Top Ten Finishes in the Horsea Marathon

The Hornsea 1/3 Marathon attracted a record entry this year and raised much needed funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.  271 runners completed the 8.7 mile road race organised by the Rotary Club of Hornsea and East Riding. East Hull 20 Mile Road Race

The East Hull 20 road race attracted a field of almost 400 runners last Sunday, most of them using the event to prepare for the London Marathon next month. In cool and drizzly conditions, perfect for racing, 33 runners from Beverley Athletic Club joined over 1500 others in the Brass Monkey half marathon.
