Several Beverley athletes travelled to the Yorkshire Dales last Saturday to compete in the Wharfedale half-marathon and Rugger Ramble. The half-marathon is a category BL fell race with some challenging terrain which included a 1 in 3 hill. 54 hardy runners tackled the Brantingham Hill Race on Good Friday, seven of them from Beverley Athletic Club. This challenging 7.3 mile race is organised by East Hull Harriers and tests the stamina of runners on the hilly terrain between Elloughton and Mount Airy Farm. Prizes were presented by Jonathan Leafe of Strawberry Printers who have a long association with Beverley AC as associate sponsor of the club’s races. The inaugural Deepdale Dash 10k road race took place at Barton-upon-Humber on Sunday and attracted a field of over 200 runners. The scenic undulating route provided some challenging hills but runners enjoyed the opportunity to compete on a new course.
