Beverley Town Council is asking for residents to suggest names for new streets in the town.
When new housing developments are built, each street needs a name. The bank of potential street names for the Parish of Beverley, which is managed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, currently contains only one suggestion – Thomas Davie, who was the long-serving Medical Superintendent of the former Broadgate Mental Hospital from 1927 to 1954.

Hundreds of people came out in the historic East Yorkshire Market town of Beverley to mark Remembrance Sunday.

A plaque dedicated to Beverley Victorian industrialist William Crosskill was unveiled on the front wall of 71 Walkergate, now the Grosvenor Club, by the Beverley Civic Society and the Georgian Society for East Yorkshire.
It was in this house that William Crosskill lived from 1853 to 1886.
A National Moment of Reflection to mark the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II will be held in Beverley on Sunday 18 September at 12 noon. Residents are invited to attend and pay their respects.
As announced, the country will observe a national silence at 8pm that evening in honour of Her Majesty, at which time a minute’s silence will be held. It precedes the State Funeral, which will be held the following day.
Hundreds of people lined the streets this morning as the East Riding welcomed the Queen’s Baton Relay through Beverley and Market Weighton.
