Beverley RUFC welcome Guisborough to Beaver Park this week who like Beverley suffered a similar fate by losing their first league match at home last week.
Perhaps the least said about this the better. It was Beverley’s last home fixture of what has been a fairly wretched season and it ended in another heavy defeat.
Beverley RUFC continue their National North 3 campaign with a postponed fixture against Sale FC Rugby Club.
This was some match. Beverley came back from 40-6 down to get to within nine points of snatching victory. Given another few minutes they might easily have done it.
Beverley return to action this week after having a much needed week off having endured a tough start to their National North 3 campaign.
Another spirited fightback by Beverley RUFC but again not quite enough. They went from 8-39 to 29-39 and given another five minutes might well have snatched a losing bonus point.
Seven tries, seven conversions. Beverley RUFC comfortably continued their good run and they now stand fourteen points clear of their nearest rivals at the top of North One East.
Good in patches but much of this game was rather messy and unmemorable. Given Beverley RUFC’s parlous injury crisis the result was probably what could have been expected. That they restricted Bradford to only two tries and a conversion in the second half was a credit to Beverley RUFC who had turned round 41-0 down after being heavily outplayed in the first half. In fact the second half was a…
This was an extraordinary game of rugby. Littered equally with mistakes and champagne rugby from the Beavers it was nevertheless an exciting game with, eventually, the right outcome. As is normal with the Beavers, this last away game of the season is used as an occasion for the players to let their hair down, dress up in fancy dress and have a good night out on the way home. Unfortunately…
Plenty of good rugby but overall a strange game. For Beverley RUFC it was a curate’s egg performance – good and bad in about equal measure. For twenty five minutes they played some cracking stuff, were leading 17-5, and looked as though they would romp away with it. Then unaccountably it all went wrong and after that, apart from the last ten minutes, all the good rugby came from Darlington…
Beverley RUFC rounded off their club’s fiftieth anniversary celebrations with a fine win in the spring sunshine at Beaver Park. It was hard and physical but always an enjoyable game to watch. From the early stages a victory for Beverley RUFC always looked probable but for half an hour they made heavy weather of it and at the interval all they had to show for their domination was a single…
This was a real thriller with the result in doubt until the very end. Fixtures between these two sides invariably produce fast enjoyable encounters and this was no exception. Their two games this season have yielded a total of 88 points with only a margin of two points difference between the sides. Today it was once again a nail-biting affair in which Penrith snatched victory with a penalty at the…
A thrilling game with the result in doubt until the dying minutes. With two evenly matched sides, lying third and fifth in the table, it was always going to be a tight encounter. On the day Beverley RUFC took their chances better and just about deserved the win. In the gloomy light and on a heavy pitch this might have been expected to be a forward slog in the mud. …
West Hartlepool 5 Beverley RUFC 39 Beverley RUFC ended the first half of the league season in fine style with a comprehensive victory over bottom placed West Hartlepool. This fixture in the past has often proved to be something of a banana skin for Beverley RUFC. Not this time. They played some scintillating rugby and romped home to move up to sixth in the table. Some of their rugby here…
Some fine enterprising rugby by Beverley RUFC brought them a comfortable victory and lifted them above their opponents in the table. Overall the game was by no means a classic but some of Beverley RUFC’s play was as good as we have seen all season Beating Rossendale 37 – 10. Not since the opening matches have they moved the ball so crisply and menacingly as they did here and Rossendale…
Beverley RUFC hope to build on their victory over Rochdale last Saturday with another when they pay their first ever visit to Rossendale in their National League Division 3 fixture this weekend. Rossendale were the early season favourites to possibly win the league this year, having recruited well during the last close season, but they have disappointed and are lying one place above the Beavers in the table with the…
Beverley RUFC got back to winning ways beating Rochdale RFC 21 – 18 at Beaver Park. Phil Duboulay was the hero of for Beverley RUFC with the last kick of the match converting a penalty. Match Report: Beverley RUFC snatched victory at the death after a closely fought game between two sides anxious to improve their league position. There was not much memorable rugby on view but both teams tried…
