The Wombles of Beverley has reached a huge milestone with those involved with the group saying they are delighted to launch its inaugural membership scheme.
The scheme, accessed via the Wombles website, is available to everyone in Beverley and the surrounding villages who has an interest in litter picking.
Tesco Community Grants fund thousands of local community projects across the UK, helping to fight holiday hunger, tackle mental health, support young people, host community events and much more.
Since 2016 the scheme has supported over 40,000 community groups with more than £90million in grants.
The Wombles of Beverley have certainly made an impact in Beverley in the short time they have been in existence.
From their humble beginnings with a handful of members, the group now has around 150 people picking discarded litter.
