As two recent graduates who have not yet quite managed to shake of the student mentality, the curry night at The Victoria pub was too good an offer to miss. Recommended by a friend we decided to give it a go. Discreet Diner and two companions headed for the Siam Star restaurant on Lairgate, having heard it had changed hands and had a complete refurbishment. As we approached, we shared grim recollections from many years ago when we had visited this building…which was also a Thai restaurant – but I am delighted to report that this place is nothing like it was under previous ownership. This a family pub – catering for children (a baby’s bottle was warmed up by the bar…

Les and Chris Willicombe have run the Queen’s Head, Wednesday Market, for the past five and a half years and are passionate about the alternative atmosphere the area provides. Over the past few years, a huge amount of work…

My name is Paul Smith, and I moved to Beverley from Leeds. I have a web design business, creating websites for companies all over the world. I am very aware of the increasing importance of information available on the internet to the success of businesses and organisations, and as my interest in Beverley has increased, I have also been increasingly aware that there is very little information available to a…
