Beverley Minster this week took delivery on a Beacon as part of the Queens Golden Jubilee Celebrations. The lighting of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Beacons takes place on Monday 4th June 2012.
The Mayor of Beverley, Cllr Peter Astell will be holding a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Ball on the 27th April 2012 to celebrate the Queen’s reign on the throne for 60 years.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is developing a corner of the town to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the Queen. Work is under way to turn the corner of New Walkergate, Beverley, into the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Garden.

The North Bar is the town’s last surviving medieval gate. The other two, Newbiggen Gate and Keld Gate, were pulled down in the 18th and 19th centuries after falling into disrepair.
