St Georges FC triumphed on a perfect day for the ever-popular Mike Gaden Football Fives tournament held at Beverley Rugby Club yesterday (Sunday). More than 20 teams from Beverley and beyond slugged it out in intense heat, to the pleasure of large numbers of supporters enjoying an afternoon in the sun. Beverley Town FC presented their end-of-season awards at the Beaver on Friday. The night was most notable for the announcement by chairman Stu Akaster that he was standing down after more than a decade at the helm.
