They do not come more exciting than this. This was some match, with an unbearable last five minutes for both sets of supporters. Huddersfield are going full belt for promotion and against a side
Cold, wet, windy, a long suspension of play for a serious injury, and a stand full of home supporters who seldom paused in their relentless whingeing at the referee.
A humdinger of a match. An encounter with high flying Sale when nearly a dozen of your first team squad are unavailable would not be many clubs’ first choice for a fixture.

A day to forget. Beverley were given a comprehensive going over here by a Billingham side playing with far greater verve and efficiency. It was comfortably Beverley’s poorest display of the season.
At halftime this match looked as good as all over. By the end it had become a hard-fought rousing contest. Despite wet conditions underfoot and a near gale both sides played with bags of adventure producing an afternoon of nine tries and plenty of excitement.
This was more like it. After several disappointing performances in which they have not done themselves justice Beverley had a comfortable win here and looked to be back at their best.
Beverley RUFC cannot afford much more like this. They have enough quality to be a top six side yet they have now lost five matches, at least four of them games they should have won.
Better. Much better. After a disappointing defeat in their opening game Beverley RUFC gave notice that they are back in town in front of their own fans at Beaver Park.
