Colin Taylor of Beverley Athletic Club chose to celebrate his 65th birthday in style by running the Edinburgh Marathon last Sunday. On the eve of this milestone birthday he ran the 26.2 mile course in a commendable 4 hours 37 minutes and 14 seconds.
Fourteen athletes from Beverley Athletic Club travelled to Bridlington last Sunday for the annual Brid Half. The challenging undulating course takes runners out into the East Yorkshire countryside via Sewerby, Flamborough and Bempton and returns via Sewerby to a finish on the sea front. The first race of the 2011/2012 season of the East Yorkshire Cross-Country League took place last Sunday at Bishop Wilton and more than 150 athletes from eight local running clubs lined up at the start.
