Hull City Council Leader Publishes Proposed Budget Statement For Year Ahead

Hull City Council Leader, Councillor Stephen Brady, has published the proposed Budget Statement for 2021/22, ahead of it being discussed at Full Council on 25 February.

The Budget outlines that there will be no cuts to services for residents, and savings will be made through internal council savings but no redundancies will be made. Council Tax will rise by 4.99 per cent, but those receiving council tax support will be protected from the rise through the use of the Hardship Fund.

The Bridlington Station Plaza Scheme involved the creation of a new car park, exit road and a landscaped pedestrian area in front of the station to give passengers a warm welcome to the town.

Newland Avenue To Re-Open Temporarily For Motorists During Hull Fair

Newland Avenue will reopen temporarily on Monday 2 October for two weeks to allow full access to Hull Fair for public transport, emergency services, and motorists.

Phase one has been completed ahead of schedule, allowing the road to be reopened. This will give unrestricted access to businesses along Newland Avenue, and allow the scheduled bus services to travel along the street during this period.
