A young, virtuoso percussionist is returning home to perform as a solo artist with the Hull Philharmonic Orchestra.
Beverley-born Laura Bradford, who left the area in 2013 to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, joined the Hull Philharmonic at the age of 13.
Iconic film music will reverberate around the City Hall when the Hull Philharmonic plays a programme of requested music next month.
The February 26 concert features John Williams’ Jurassic Park, Hans Zimmer’s The Lion King and Morricone’s Gabriel’s Oboe from The Mission, taking the audience on a journey through some of the most popular soundtracks of the 20th century. John Williams’ Summon the Heroes written for the 1996 Summer Olympics will also be played.
East Riding County Choir will be performing Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn in Beverley Minster on Saturday 3 May at 7.30pm. The soloists will be Sally Harrison (soprano) Fiona Kimm (contralto) James Edwards (tenor) and Robert Rice (baritone).
