Heritage Open Days : Explore Skidby Mill And Access Restricted Areas

Skidby Mill will be taking part in the Heritage Open Days 2017, on Saturday and Sunday 9 and 10 September.

Visitors will be able to enjoy free admission to the mill on both days between 10am and 4.15pm to the usual facilities on site – The Museum of East Riding Rural Life, a range of outbuildings, and an exhibition entitled Steeple People: East Riding Churches and Associated People, looking at a selection of churches from across the East Riding, as well as people closely connected with them.

Countryside Events Programme Launched For 2017

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s countryside access team has launched its Countryside Events 2017 programme.

From rambles and themed walks (including photography, navigation, geocaching and orienteering) to wildlife watching events; from Kids Go Wild events to workshops, conservation days and natural craft workshops – the programme includes something for everybody with an interest in the outdoors.

Exclusivity Agreement On Skidby Mill Extended Until March 2017

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that it has extended the exclusivity agreement with the Millhouse Restaurant regarding proposals for the future operation of Skidby Mill until 31 March, 2017.

Skidby Mill and Heritage Centre is currently operated by the council as a visitor attraction and is the home of the Museum of East Riding Rural Life.

Lucky Winners Of The Treasure House Children's Trail 2016

Three lucky winners have received their prizes, after taking part in this year’s Treasure House Children’s Trail in Beverley.

Becky Hitchenor, aged 9 of Beverley, won first prize – a family pass to Sewerby Hall and Gardens, as well as craft materials. Second prize went to Zac Barber, aged 13 from Louth, who won a family visit to Skidby Mill, and craft materials.
