Walkabout Raises Funds and Awareness For Daisy Appeal

The Daisy Appeal went walkabout with award-winning tour guide Paul Schofield to raise money and awareness of the charity and of some of the region’s hidden history.

Some of the group of more than 40 people were tourists in their own town as Paul took them on a trip through the streets and alleyways of Beverley.

The team at Beverley’s award-winning racecourse are already planning new initiatives and a major investment in facilities after a successful 2019 season drew to a close.

Despite facing adverse weather conditions throughout spring and summer, the season attracted similar bumper attendances to last year, with almost 80,000 racegoers enjoying meetings at the picturesque racecourse.

Daisy Appeal Benefit Thanks To Fund Raising Efforts Of Local Golf Club

The former Captain of Beverley and East Riding Golf Club presented the founder of the Daisy Appeal with a cheque for more than £2,500 from fund-raising events held during 2018.

Steve Fox, who stepped down as Captain at the end of the year, said he selected Daisy for the donation because of connections with cancer and because it is a local charity.
